A 78-year-old man was found dead at the foot of Block 800 Yishun Ring Road on Sunday, 5 July 2026, after falling from height. Police were alerted at approximately 2pm, and the Singapore Civil Defence Force arrived shortly after at 2.05pm, pronouncing the man dead at the scene. The body lay motionless beside lift B at the void deck, where police cordoned off part of the area and established a blue tent.

A resident told AsiaOne she did not recognise the deceased and did not believe he lived at the block. The Singapore Police Force said no foul play is suspected based on preliminary investigations, though further enquiries remain ongoing. The incident comes amid rising suicide rates in Singapore, with the Samaritans of Singapore reporting 314 suicide deaths in 2024, the largest increase among adults aged 30 to 39.
