Man spray-paints inside Yishun police post, gets arrested at the scene

A 50-year-old man was arrested on 23 September 2021 after allegedly spray-painting the interior walls of Chong Pang Neighbourhood Police Post at Block 141 Yishun Ring Road at approximately 1:55pm. The vandalism occurred in broad daylight at a 24-hour police facility equipped with self-help kiosks — a location choice that leaves investigators with few logistical mysteries.

The man was arrested for vandalism and suspected possession and consumption of controlled drugs, and was subsequently remanded for psychiatric assessment ahead of his court appearance the following day. If convicted of vandalism, he faces up to three years' jail, a fine, and three to eight strokes of the cane.
