16 cats killed in Yishun as investigators appeal for dashcam footage

A sustained killing spree targeting community cats in Yishun has claimed 16 lives across 17 reported abuse cases since September 24, with the latest victim found bleeding extensively in a multi-storey carpark at Block 115B Yishun Ring Road on December 12. The cats suffered injuries consistent with deliberate, escalating cruelty — strangulation, poisoning, blunt force trauma, severed limbs, and in one case, a gouged eyeball and slit tongue. With CCTV footage yielding no conclusive leads, MP Louis Ng (Nee Soon GRC) has appealed to residents to submit in-vehicle dashcam recordings to AVA investigators, while a new grassroots fast-response team of volunteers, cat feeders, and concerned residents has been formed to assist authorities on the ground. Several suspects have been identified but evidence remains inconclusive, as founder of animal rescue group Yishun 326 Tabby Cat, Madam Janet Sum, warns the perpetrator appears to be growing bolder with each attack.
