1.4kg of heroin seized at Yishun Ave 6 void deck in broad daylight bust

A CNB operation at Yishun Avenue 6 on 24 May 2016 ended with four men arrested and approximately 1.4kg of heroin — street value exceeding S$99,000 — recovered from a haversack carried by a 46-year-old Singaporean male. Officers had been conducting surveillance on the suspected drug trafficker before observing him meet his 63-year-old associate and two Malaysian nationals, aged 22 and 24, at the void deck of a block in the Yishun Avenue 6 vicinity. All four were arrested swiftly after parting ways, with CNB also seizing over S$30,000 in cash during the operation. The quantity seized sits dangerously close to the 15g diamorphine threshold that triggers the mandatory death penalty under the Misuse of Drugs Act — enough heroin to supply roughly 180 addicts for a week.
