Kurt Tay: the Yishun character the whole island knows

Few people embody Yishun's reputation as a "weird neighbourhood" quite like Kurt Tay (real name Tay Foo Wei), a Yishun-based online personality known for his self-styled wrestling persona, a WWE belt and breast implants. Over the years a strange orbit of events has revolved around him — some where he was the target of others' cruelty, some of his own making. Three are catalogued here: a group of men who harassed him by plastering lewd flyers around his block (he was the victim; they were jailed); a livestreamed void-deck fight he sought out and lost; and, most seriously, his own 2026 conviction for distributing a woman's intimate images and making threats (he was the offender).
