Teens point toy gun at Yishun cashier, film her screaming, get arrested
Two 16-year-old boys were arrested for criminal intimidation after allegedly pointing a toy gun at a retail employee in Yishun Street 22 at 7.04am on Monday, 17 April 2023. The pair had reportedly planned the prank in advance โ one approached the cashier's counter to make payment before producing the toy firearm and aiming it at the worker, while his accomplice filmed the reaction on a mobile phone. Both teenagers began laughing when the employee screamed, then revealed the gun was fake. Officers from Woodlands Police Division identified the duo via CCTV footage and arrested them within three hours of the report, seizing the toy gun, the recording device, and the clothes worn during the incident. Criminal intimidation carries a maximum sentence of 10 years' imprisonment, a fine, or both.
