Police sergeant, 28, dies from gunshot wound at Yishun North NPC

A 28-year-old police sergeant was found with a fatal gunshot wound to his head at the Yishun North Neighbourhood Police Centre, 31 Yishun Central, on the night of Sunday June 16. The officer had reported for duty at 7.30pm and drawn his service pistol from the armoury before being found alone in the rest area approximately two hours later, his service weapon beside him. He was conveyed unconscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and pronounced dead at 10.26pm. The Singapore Police Force has classified the case as unnatural death with no foul play suspected, and the Criminal Investigation Department is investigating. Police stated they are assisting the officer's family during this period.
