Two 13-year-olds on illegal PMD ride into car's path at Yishun junction

Two 13-year-old boys were struck by a car at the junction of Yishun Ring Road and Yishun Avenue 2 at approximately 11:10pm on 28 December, after riding a personal mobility device through a junction against the right of way. Dashcam footage from the vehicle shows the pair approaching from the right and riding directly into the path of a car making a legal right turn on a green light. Both boys were sent airborne on impact and were found lying on the road, visibly in pain, before SCDF personnel attended to them. They were subsequently conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. PMDs are prohibited on public roads in Singapore, making the decision to ride one through a signalised junction at night a comprehensive catalogue of poor choices.
