Woman calls police on neighbour in Yishun, gets arrested herself

A 44-year-old woman known as Madam Fu was arrested for disorderly behaviour at Block 162, Yishun Street 11 after calling the police herself over an ongoing dispute with her 15th-floor neighbour. Madam Fu had accused neighbour Madam Lin, 49, of throwing rubbish at her doorstep, knocking on her door in the middle of the night, and sending unsolicited messages — grievances that apparently felt urgent enough to warrant a 11.45pm call to the authorities on August 27. Madam Lin, however, had her own receipts: CCTV footage allegedly showing Madam Fu splashing water at her door. Officers arrived to find Madam Fu uncooperative and shouting, resulting in the rare outcome of the complainant becoming the accused. The incident stands as a masterclass in the art of owning yourself.
