Woman jokes she's 'moving out of Yishun' after moth eggs appear on her window

Content creator Pamela Lee Nur Shuhadah discovered deep green insect eggs attached to the exterior of her HDB window in Yishun, prompting her to humorously declare she'd "migrate elsewhere" to escape the situation. In a July 13 Instagram and TikTok video, Ms Pamela addressed viewer questions about whether the eggs were inside or outside the flat, which insect laid them, and whether the green substance was bird droppings.

She confirmed the eggs were on the outer window and, after a Google search, identified them as moth eggs—a type described as "very fertile." Ms Pamela firmly ruled out bird faeces, explaining that avian droppings would fall straight down rather than adhere in the pattern she observed, and noted she has personal experience with bird poo that "doesn't look like that."

Her partner successfully removed the eggs by scraping them off with tissue. According to the source, moth eggs are not uncommon in Singapore and typically change colour from green to grey or brown before hatching into small caterpillars within four to ten days. Residents can prevent infestation by scraping eggs into a bag using a flat edge and washing the window with soapy water.
