A false bomb report at a Yishun McDonald's
Police were alerted to a bomb threat at a McDonald's outlet at Block 846, Yishun Ring Road at 10.25pm on Thursday, April 20, 2023, but found no threat items after completing security checks. The incident prompted immediate evacuation; customers were barred from dining in and restricted to takeaway orders while officers searched the premises.
A food delivery worker, Mr Zhuo, 40, reported noticing the heavy police presence when collecting an order and observed staff refusing to discuss what had occurred. The police confirmed they are investigating the incident as a case of communicating false information about something harmful. Offenders convicted of making false bomb threats face up to seven years imprisonment, fines up to $50,000, or both. No arrests were reported at the time of publication.
