Yishun residents rescue kitten stuck in drain pipe—'Yishun spirit' on display

A three-month-old kitten named Mocha became trapped in a drain pipe at the void deck of Block 851 Yishun Street 81 on the morning of Jan 28, 2026. A group of residents discovered the cat stuck in the drain around 10pm that evening and rallied together to free it, with one man—dressed in a pink T-shirt and identified as a plumber—using a hammer and screwdriver to prise open the drain casing and widen the opening.
