Yishun getai silenced after 80 minutes; noise complaint ends 23-year streak

The Yishun South Block 8 Zhongyuan Association's Friday night getai performance at Khatib MPC lasted just 1 hour and 20 minutes before police arrived following noise complaints from residents. The event, which kicked off at 7 p.m. with 80 tables of dinner guests and featured performers including Chen Kaixuan, Zi Yao, Wei Bin, and Huang Kailin, was interrupted when officers responded to the complaint.

Association chairman Ke Fuqiang stated this marked the first noise-related disruption in the organization's 23-year history of annual Zhongyuan Festival celebrations. After police communicated with organizers on-site, performances resumed and continued as normal. Yishun GRC MP Lee Hui Ying attended the event to show support for the association.
