Driver dies after 6 resuscitation attempts following Yishun Ave 1 crash

A 29-year-old man, identified as Mr Lin Jingxiang, died at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital after his car skidded on Lentor Avenue, mounted a kerb, and crashed into a road divider barrier on Yishun Avenue 1 in the early hours of Saturday, August 18, at approximately 3.29am. The vehicle lost control while negotiating a turn into a slip road toward Yishun Avenue 1, and the driver was found unconscious at the scene before being conveyed to hospital with serious injuries. Doctors attempted to resuscitate Mr Lin six times before he was pronounced dead at around 12.30pm the same day. His family, informed of the accident nearly eight hours after it occurred, arrived at the ICU to find four doctors performing CPR — their sixth attempt. Mr Lin had been planning to marry his girlfriend next year and had spoken to his mother just the day before to arrange a Sunday meal; police investigations remain ongoing and the family has appealed for witnesses with video footage to come forward.
