Yishun woman falls from escalator while riding with shopping trolley

An elderly woman in a red top fell on a stationary escalator at Junction Nine mall in Yishun on Aug. 19 at around 4:45pm, apparently while pushing a shopping trolley onto the moving steps. Video footage circulating on Facebook showed her lying on her side on the stopped escalator, conscious but with a suspected head injury.

First responders administered on-site first aid and helped her into a sitting position before SCDF transported her to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. The incident occurred on the escalator connecting the first and second floors at 18 Yishun Avenue 9.
