Doctor charged with molestation at Yishun hospital over stethoscope incident
A 29-year-old doctor employed by MOH Holdings has been charged with outraging the modesty of a 24-year-old woman at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) in Yishun. According to court documents, Yeo Teng Yao allegedly placed the diaphragm of a stethoscope onto the woman's breasts at around 9pm on July 17, 2023, while in a ward at the hospital. The charge was filed on September 3, 2026, more than three years after the alleged incident.
MOH Holdings confirmed on September 8 that Yeo has been dismissed from his position. "We expect our medical officers to uphold high standards of professional conduct. The doctor was immediately suspended from all duties when the matter was brought to our attention and has since been dismissed," a spokesman said. The Singapore Medical Council's database shows Yeo remains a registered doctor. His pre-trial conference is scheduled for September 29. Conviction for molestation carries a maximum penalty of three years' imprisonment, a fine, caning, or any combination thereof.
