Body of 30-year-old man retrieved from Yishun Dam; no foul play suspected

A 30-year-old man was found dead in the waters off Yishun Dam on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, after police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call for assistance at approximately 7.20am from Yishun Avenue 1. SCDF rescuers used specialist rescue equipment to retrieve the body from the water near the sluice gate; the man was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.

Based on preliminary investigations, police have ruled out foul play. The incident caused significant traffic congestion in the area, with one commuter reporting it took almost an hour to clear the jam. Police investigations remain ongoing.
