Selling fake Chanel on TikTok lands Yishun woman, 41, in handcuffs

A 41-year-old woman was arrested in Yishun on Jun. 25, 2026, after officers from the Criminal Investigation Department raided her premises in the vicinity of Yishun Street 61 and uncovered an alleged counterfeit goods operation run through TikTok. More than 700 purported trademark-infringing items were seized during the operation, spanning luxury bags, wallets, watches, sunglasses, apparel, footwear, and accessories. The estimated street value of the haul exceeded S$34,000. Police investigations are ongoing, and the woman faces charges under the Trade Marks Act 1998, which carries penalties of up to S$100,000 in fines, up to five years' imprisonment, or both. The Singapore Police Force noted that the distribution and sale of counterfeit goods through online platforms — including TikTok — constitutes a serious offence, and warned that enforcement action would be taken against those profiting at the expense of legitimate businesses and consumers.
