8 fires deliberately set at Yishun Close condo worksite in 8 days

Eight fires were intentionally started at the North Gaia executive condominium construction site along Yishun Close between November 20 and 27, 2024, in what SCDF has confirmed as a deliberate arson campaign. The fires, which broke out across various locations within the worksite, primarily consumed construction materials and furniture, with videos showing thick black smoke and flames pouring from upper-floor units. In at least one incident, two workers were conveyed to Singapore General Hospital for smoke inhalation, marking the only reported injuries across the eight-day spree. SCDF crews and on-site workers managed to extinguish the blazes before they spread further, but police investigations remain ongoing as authorities work to identify who is responsible for the sustained attack on the Yishun development.
