Chain collision on Yishun Ave 2 sends 4 to hospital; driver was disqualified
A chain collision involving one lorry and four cars along Yishun Avenue 2 towards Canberra Link left four people hospitalised on the evening of Dec. 13, 2024. The multi-vehicle pileup, which unfolded at approximately 6:35pm, resulted in two car drivers and two passengers aged between 24 and 65 being conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, while a fifth person declined hospital treatment despite sustaining minor injuries. A 24-year-old male driver was arrested at the scene for driving whilst under disqualification, adding a criminal dimension to what might otherwise have been a routine road traffic accident. Footage circulated on Facebook group Singapore Stuff showed at least three vehicles with significant bumper and rear-end damage, with the black car sandwiched between a white and red car appearing to have absorbed the worst of the impact. Police investigations are ongoing.
