Two men ride Yishun bicycle with one perched in basket near Wisteria Mall

A pair of riders were spotted on an Anywheel bicycle near Wisteria Mall along Yishun Ring Road on August 24 at approximately 5.30pm, with one man sitting in the front basket while the other pedalled. A witness captured video of the two travelling across a junction alongside other vehicles, describing their behaviour as "playful" and "mischievous" but expressing concern for safety.

Anywheel responded with disappointment, clarifying that the front basket is designed solely for carrying personal belongings and is not engineered to support human weight. The company stated that sitting or riding in the basket poses serious safety risks to both the rider and others on the road, and pledged to take appropriate action in accordance with its policies.

This is not an isolated incident. In March, a similar case was reported in Tampines involving a woman in a bicycle basket, and in July, two riders were filmed weaving through traffic with one apparently carrying a passenger in the basket. Anywheel has consistently discouraged such usage and advised the public to report violations to relevant authorities.
