PMD fire at Block 756 Yishun Street 72 hospitalises one, evacuates 25
A fire involving two personal mobility aids (PMAs) broke out in the corridor of Block 756 Yishun Street 72 on October 20, sending one resident to KK Women's and Children's Hospital for smoke inhalation. The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted at 12.05pm and extinguished the blaze using a water jet, with preliminary findings pointing to one of the PMAs as the likely ignition source. Around 25 residents were evacuated as a precautionary measure while police and SCDF managed the scene. Electricity supply to two affected units was temporarily disrupted, though Nee Soon GRC MP Goh Hanyan confirmed contractors would restore power by evening, with Nee Soon Town Council's conservancy team handling cleanup — a tidy resolution to a thoroughly avoidable situation.
