HSA sweep catches vaper, 44, and teen smoker, 17, in Yishun patrol

Health Sciences Authority (HSA) enforcement officers conducting patrols across Bugis, Somerset, and Yishun netted two offenders in a single sweep: a 44-year-old man caught vaping and a 17-year-old boy found smoking. The joint operation targeted public areas known for tobacco and vaping violations, with Yishun among the three locations flagged for enforcement activity. Both individuals face penalties under Singapore's Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) Act, which prohibits the sale, possession, and use of vaping products, as well as smoking in non-designated areas. The operation serves as a reminder that HSA patrols are not limited to the usual entertainment and youth hotspots — Yishun residents are apparently also being watched.
