Garbage truck flips at Yishun junction, bends lamp post, sends three workers to hospital

A garbage truck skidded and flipped onto its side at the junction of Sembawang Road and Yishun Avenue 7 on the morning of July 5, 2026, sending its driver and two passengers to hospital. Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force were alerted to the accident at approximately 11.20am, with the truck believed to have lost control at the junction. The 47-year-old driver and his two male passengers, aged 47 and 60, were taken conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital — all three wearing matching blue tops, as though coordinating their emergency ward visit. Footage uploaded to the Complaint Singapore Facebook page shows the garbage truck lying on its side by the road, with a nearby lamp post visibly bent from the impact. SCDF paramedics were photographed attending to the three men on a nearby pavement. The driver is assisting with ongoing police investigations into the cause of the skid.
